There is a documentary about vegan leather that shows how the options and versatility, thickness , colours and surfaces, durability or flexibility, are just surpassing thousand times the leather made of animals skins. Not to mention atrocities. DESIGNERS have to lead , not to hung on lower evolution.

  5. Hi Lisa, we are making a whole new bathroom from scratch. I am thinking of having simple round mirrors with led lights above the two vanities. Not sure if I should have sconces on either side of the mirrors, or a vanity light above each mirror. Or would the led mirrors be enough? Any help or suggestions are much appreciated. You are the best thing on YouTube!

  7. After I found out how expensive staging was here in the SF Bay Area, I staged my entire 3bd house myself using all new stuff, and aside from a coupla IKEA Kiviks, everything else was Amazon or Target.

    I found it a whole lot easier to do it online, because I could put the whole room together in one place before I ordered it, rather than trying to deal with measurements and colors etc. in person, plus Amazon delivered it all right to the house.

    Plus it was a whole lot of fun to do, because when else in my life would I ever get the chance to do an entire house top to bottom myself all at once and feel totally justified in just going "I'll take that, and that, and that"?

    Now a buncha that stuff (incl. one Kivik) is in my new condo, and what I didn't need went to my daughter's new apartment when she graduated from college and got her own place…finally! (LOL).

    And BTW, I totally agree with you that the only color for bedding is white 🙂

  9. Why do all these modern chairs and sofas have such short backs? Why can't they be made so you can actually rest back on them? The short backs are uncomfortable and just stupid.

  12. why are so many videos about mid century, minimalist ,modern? Not just you, Lisa, but every single designer video. I feel as though my style has to change just to suit . I like that style in a hotel but not in my home. I want to feel more homey, comfortable

  14. Amazon is great but if you buy much there, you will need a yearly Prime membership. It gives you free shipping on most items, some free book choices, and free Amazon Prime movie channel. Also, most purchases are delivered quickly. How about food from Amazon? During the pandemic I could not buy Worchestershire sauce. I bought a half gallon there. Books, yes. Cat foods and litter, yes. Clothes and shoes…check. Small appliances, TVs…..check. Damn I do not work for Amazon.

  23. I remember getting injured by a coffee table like the one features. My husband had it and we kept it way past its death date. I would never buy a coffee table like that. In fact, I don't own a coffee table and never did. Way too many kids get injured by coffee tables.

  30. This is awesome because Wayfair just let me down. They emailed me that the rug I wanted (Gerold Geometric Handmade White Area Rug) had gone "on sale" and exhorted me to "Click to see price!" When I clicked to the page, the price of the rug had gone up by $100 since I looked at it a few days ago!
    One of the Now House rugs in your video looks like it would fit the same look I want – off to find it now!

  33. The second chair you showed in the Rivet collection….womb chair it is not…..has the legs designed in such a way as the chair would not sit level on the floor. Look at the legs of the chair where the chair is in front of the brick wall. I would be very careful about buying much of this stuff from Amazon as I would seriously question the quality.

I love the energy; the confidence; the clear and straightforward advice…and I WE suck at painting but we like to do it anyways. My wife told me: If she sees our house she gets an instant stroke hahaha !!! Had to follow you because your attitude and your incredible defiant confidence… oh yeah!!!

  43. You gotta be brave to buy furniture online. You never know how a sofa feels until you sit on it. And it can say the table is solid ash or oak or whatever but…not all solid wood is the same.
