I'm with you. I like both, and I can definitely see how marrying the two together to different degrees can customize your home perfectly. This has helped me much more than other design sources i've found.
Ah this was so helpful. I have always thought my style was transitional… bit just my "own type" of transitional… mixing old and new but now New Traditional ticks almost every box for me. Thanks!!
You have to read coran and judge it
For me, the quality of materials is very 's essential to find a designer who can communicate your was a great company to work were very skilled in finding the best materials at an affordable price.
Bergere is pronounced berZHer or BAIRJAIR not bairjay.
Thank you Erikka! Would you say that new traditional is the same as transitional?
I basically like the traditional style, but there are some elements from other design styles I really like and can incorporate in my space.
Wow!! Ok! Now I know exactly what kind of style I have. It's new traditional. I've never heard of it until now. I've been trying to figure out what my style was, it's New Traditional Style! Thank you so much!
I love New Traditional style 💕
OMG, it's such an interesting theme! I hope you will write a big beautiful book on this subject with a lot of details, checklists and large gorgeous photos!!!! I have exactly the same likes as you plus I also like some Romantic style features like French curved furniture, painted furniture etc.
Such a good video and great examples! X
To me, it depends on the room and the feel I want to give the room. In a bar, library, or billiards room give me traditional. New traditional is fine everywhere else.
I love both styles however I dont like the lower sofas and side chairs of today very uncomfortable to get up from.
Video was too fast. Couldn't enjoy as much as I would have like to.
I scored 6 to 4 in favor of New Traditional. Thank you so much in helping me figure out my design style.
Such a warm, intelligent personality you have, Erikka Dawn. Thank you for generously sharing your style considerations.
Thanks for all the info. I seem to like new traditional. Is new traditional the same or similar to transitional?
New traditional, from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰
In trying to describe my perfect bedroom look, I was always surprised to be told it was beachy. I suppose it's a bit true, as I very much love light.
New Traditional wins here for me because of the increased light.
I’ve searched high and low to find my design style. I’ve felt lost. We bought our first house a month ago and I haven’t purchased one new thing for the home. I’ve been paralyzed with indecision. I know what I like but didn’t know where it fit. Then I stumbled on this video today and it NAILED my design style. I almost voted the same way you did in each category. Now I’m inspired to start decorating!!!! Thank you!!!
I'm not going to struggle to pick one. I'm blending the two… and throwing in some Colonial. :p
I put the entire design selection in a simple way,
If you are new soul, Go for Modern, MCM, Contemporary, Minimal.
If you are an Old Soul, Go for Traditional, Boho!
If you are an Old Soul + Spiritual, Go for Indian!
This was helpful and so detailed. I am learning (I think) that I am attracted to like a tranquil and fantasy new traditional feel.
Just make sure your guests don' t have asthma or allergies if you use jute and sisal.
Thanks for this video!!
New Traditional = Transitional. It mixes some traditional with some contemporary elements.
Love the new traditional.
After traveling to England, it verified my love of traditional style or English cottage style
New traditional for me … and my home itself is new traditional as well. Thanks for the great examples!
New traditional all the way with one big exception: ORIENTAL rugs all the way especially in the Serapi design. Don't care for jute or sisal at all.
I find new traditional unless done well, very 'cold', not welcoming so much prefer 'traditional' but in the English country way, not so ornate in the furniture or curtain drapes. As the wether cold and through the winter damp, warmth in colour and texture is paramount 🙂
This was so helpful!!! I’ve been trying to get more knowledgeable so I can be intentional in my home design, but I was confused after some other videos if I was traditional or contemporary/MCM. I didn’t seem to like the pictures of an entire space in either category. This helped me realize I like the traditional look and feel, but paired down and with clean and simple lines in furniture and details.
